Akamai

Active since 2020, Akamai has explored a wide range of genres—including Indie, Hip-Hop, Afro beats, House, Reggaeton, and Alternative—in pursuit of sounds that elevate his artistic vision.

That same year, he released his debut studio-mixed single Bounce with Seattle-based producer Jay Battle (p/k/a Qreepz). Early fans dubbed the track “Space Rap,” inspiring Akamai to adopt the moniker The Space Rapper across social media.

Akamai showed his range with the release of Planet Africa, his first full-length afrobeats album, independently dropped in 2022 and followed by a deluxe version in 2023. Tracks like Sawale and Alcoholics Anonymous were standout fan favorites.

In 2024, Akamai expanded further, experimenting with dancehall, indie alternative, and boom bap.

So far in 2025, he’s teamed up with rising Boston-based artist <a href="spotify:artist:2flIaLZhFrV3KZgCO3uaCo" data-name="ZITTO">ZITTO</a> on In My Head, a Juice WRLD-inspired hip hop single. Other 2025 releases like Chill Vibe and Snow Day (Afrobeats x Hip Hop) have also been warmly received.

This summer, Akamai is set to release a wave of Afro-house singles featuring Florida-based artist Dani.
