Akinola Pedro

Born in Washington D.C., Akinola Pedro launched his career in 2016 as AkinG Kalld Pedro with the release of his debut Mixtape/EP, <a href="spotify:album:6STRxx6A155Ykze7Ym9Lg5" data-name="Afro-Brazil: Viva Sua Paixão">Afro-Brazil: Viva Sua Paixão</a>.

In 2019, he released his demo album, <a href="spotify:album:6Ftfol3x442nznFykldkiQ" data-name="SURREALISM">SURREALISM</a>, and later that year, found himself amongst 10 other emerging artists that won the inaugural 2Kbeats Contest created by United Masters. His breakout single, “<a href="spotify:track:5N0GzREnvstvjQ9GK93Nvf" data-name="Traffic.jam {BARGAIN}">Traffic.jam {BARGAIN}</a>” was featured on <a href="spotify:playlist:4wZ1wjXmLXHegWrLpkbPW4" data-name="NBA 2K20 Soundtrack">NBA 2K20 Soundtrack</a> and co-signed by Steve Stoute &amp; Kevin Durant.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Pedro released single &#34;<a href="spotify:track:1cEcqGO1GnxAuwDG19lGfd" data-name="Fancy">Fancy</a>&#34; the single featured the R&amp;B act, <a href="spotify:artist:24S5IyzXICyGscL4vYshdq" data-name="Alex Vaughn">Alex Vaughn</a> off his 2021 debut album, <a href="spotify:album:4NEMhVLXRbQtmJ7bOxyj2B" data-name="Children of Immigrants!">Children of Immigrants!</a>. The album also boasted features from <a href="spotify:artist:7p1KdHKrIDsXbiHnRNPOTG" data-name="Innanet James">Innanet James</a>, the Beyoncé and Jidenna-collaborator, <a href="spotify:artist:2MfKVXjjRUAUEeh4b4y8Sc" data-name="Lord Afrixana">Lord Afrixana</a> and his single &#34;<a href="spotify:track:30aFtclWipYiOTVYqif4LK" data-name="INTERNACIONAL! (Plan B)">INTERNACIONAL! (Plan B)</a>” which earned him a placement on <a href="spotify:playlist:4CeGsHae454S3qSZJQww1o" data-name="NBA 2K21 Next Gen Soundtrack">NBA 2K21 Next Gen Soundtrack</a>

In 2022, Pedro rebranded himself, opting to go with his birth name and released the three song extend play, <a href="spotify:album:6rMinLce4PbvmAzFXiSsCO" data-name="Tatooine: the world that never was">Tatooine: the world that never was</a>. The EP featured a new sound direction with Pedro which he claims as Progressive Soul. In the summer of 2024 he released <a href="spotify:track:6px9Dcqa44GP2RhfEZh5bs" data-name="crave">crave</a>, the lead single to his 2025 sophomore album, <a href="spotify:album:1GWRM3WTCCgQal6xs0WIA2" data-name="POMEGRANATE?">POMEGRANATE?</a>. The album’s tracks were each released in the span of 10 days as a countdown leading up to its release date on February 10th.
