Born and raised in Lansing, MI, Caeyon Nick – AKA Avidince, or Ave as he’s come to be known – brings back the old school energy of hip hop and skillfully unites it with a new age trap sound and lashings of rhythm and melody. His writing draws directly from personal experience – his lyrics hit hard for their honesty and intelligent framing alike, making his releases the perfect choice of escapism for the next wave of hip hop fans.
Being drawn to music at just eight years old, Ave leaned towards RnB initially, developing a passion for dancing and the likes of MJ before later evolving to develop a love for hip hop and a life story that would inevitably find its way into his writing. From hustling on the local scene to street beefs and family difficulties, Ave was already pouring his soul into his music at just 17 years old.
In 2008, Fallen Angel Records Studio discovered Ave at a school talent show, and subsequently helped him develop his sound and confidence on stage. Original tracks like ‘Make You Dip, ‘After Party’ and ‘Stunner Shades’ began to make waves on his local scene, prompting Ave to book an eight city tour; the perfect next step. Ave found himself supporting acts like Young LA, The New Boyz, and Juvenile.
