Akshay is a singer-songwriter from Delhi, India. Being a south Indian brought up in north India, he was always exposed to two sides of everything. Musically, he was trained as a Carnatic singer and later performed in Western musicals. He decided to learn guitar and found a mentor in ‘Sonam Sherpa’ who was the guitarist of Parikrama.
Growing up, he was exposed to a mix of Lata Mangeshkar, Jagjit Singh, Simon & Garfunkel, Jethro Tull, and Clapton – all playing at once through his parents’ collection. Akshay later started listening to contemporary artists such as John Mayer, Damien Rice & Lucy Rose.
