My name is Al Ameda, and I sing to you from a short hill that is distinctly mine. My hill is comprised of my best attempts to connect with others in a time of collective grief. Everyone has a hill. Climbing to the top of your own hill, inviting guests over to explore its slopes, and expanding your hill in any direction are all extremely vulnerable processes. I also think these might be some of the most worthwhile things we could possibly do while we’re here.

Through releasing my first album, I set out to acknowledge the compulsory absurdity of music, expression, and being human; depict the straightforward and tender ways that love that can show up in our lives; criticize the systems of harm that have been set up against our will; explore grief through timelessness; and offer to connect with your wounds by depicting my own painful inter- and intrapersonal experiences. Whether or not I accomplish any of that, I thank you for taking a brief tour of my hill as it currently stands. Feel free to collect souvenirs, and please invite me over to your hill too.
