A great encounter between musicians who experience improvised music in a different way, who dig into the rhythm, who look for a new sound and a new way of making the most traditional of formations play. Alboran trio is characterized by being the right combination of three personalities who collaborate in a unique vision of music. The program focuses on the original pieces by the pianist and composer Paolo Paliaga that the trio has cleverly arranged.
The trio is the first Italian group to have an exclusive contract with the prestigious German label ACT of Monaco. After the debut in 2006 with the first CD "Meltemi" he then published in 2008 the second CD entitled "Near Gale". Alboran Trio has played at many festivals across Europe: "London Jazz Festival" and "Brecon Jazz Festival" in Great Britain, "Rome Jazz Festival" in Italy, "Festival of San Javier" in Spain, Silda Jazz Festival, in Norway , Skodra Jazz Festival in Albania, Middle Eastern Festival in Ankara, Turkey, and then concerts in France, Ireland, Bulgaria, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. The trio was selected among the eight best new Jazz trio in Europe for the BMW Welt Award in Munich, Germany.
Recently, in the meeting with the drummer Ferdinando Faraò, the trio has regained the enthusiasm of the origins and resumed its path and the new CD "Islands" has just been released.
Alboran Trio recently won the prestigious Golden Prize from Japanese jazz magazine JAZZ HIHYO (ジ ャ ズ 批評) for best album of 2020.
