Alessi's Ark is the musical project of London born, Alessi Laurent-Marke. Aged 11, Alessi began playing drums in school bands, inspired by Meg White and started writing and performing her own songs aged 16 . Her first album 'Notes from the Treehouse' was recorded in Omaha, Nebraska with Bright Eyes producer and band member, Mike Mogis. Alessi has gone on to release four further E.Ps and four full length albums 'Time Travel' , 'The Still Life', 'Love is the Currency' and 'Anchor'.
Alessi has toured the UK, Europe, Japan and US supporting M.Ward, Sharon Van Etten, Sam Amidon, Mountain Goats, Mumford & Sons, Jenny Lewis, Laura Marling and John Grant amongst others.
Alessi has recorded vocals for Neva Dinova, Young Colossus, Cursive and Valley Lodge amongst others.
She collaborates with her husband and bandmate, Jason Santos in the Ark and psychedelic rock band, The Walking Trees.
Alessi draws inspiration from the wonders of nature, faith, motherhood and beyond.
