Born and brought up in Sweden, Gothenburg, I never pursued electronic music with lofty ambitions of fame. For me, music was more of a salvation. At a time when I was in the lowest point of my life, a quivering wreck, horrifically anxious every day, barely struggling to get by, I found my respite in music. All my emotional, spiritual, cognitive, social and physical needs suddenly felt fulfilled.
When you meet someone else you think is in the same boat, the levees holding back all the smothered hurt pave way. This is what happened when I first listened to Avicii. Compared to other EDM artists, Avicii’s songs were a tad darker. Repressed pain dripped from his lyrics.
His songs wallow in conversations with fathers and brothers, called out to their loved ones, being so forlorn and lost in the present that future seems a far fetched dream. Those tracks were my depression manifested; my foray in to music that made you dance and cry simultaneously; a profound sense of ecstasy that I too wanted to instill in others.
What I want to give to people, through my music is inspiration; no matter what cards life deals you, how many pitfalls mark your route; my music can lend a hand to help you get back up. This is because my music comes from a place of understanding that you can only get to by pulling through it.
I want to touch the souls of many and help you discover the beautiful facets of electronic music and the wonders it holds.
