Born in Liverpool Alex Highton is a singer-songwriter who now resides in Cambridgeshire countryside.
As kid he spent his time between his native Liverpool and Florence, Italy, after his parents divorce. Liverpool has a musical heritage that is impossible to escape but it was during his summers, whilst he devoured his father's amazingly eclectic record collection, that his musical education began, taking in everything from Talking Heads and The Penguin Cafe Orchestra to The Band and David Bowie. After losing his twenties to bad decisions, it was only on settling down with his future wife and struggling through some kind of breakdown, that he started to take songwriting seriously. He continues to do so.
He has released three albums, “Woodditton Wives Club” (2012) , “Nobody Knows Anything” (2015) & "Welcome To Happiness" (2018) to wide acclaim.
“World Class” - The Guardian
“Alex Highton’s eminently playful second album teems with ideas, all of them good…..it’s a work that defies categorisation, but Highton’s vision is refreshingly assured throughout….Nobody Knows Anything thrives by thinking outside the box – 4 Stars” – (Mojo Magazine Feb 2015 UK)
“Frankly it’s a real boost to discover a genuine world class practitioner who restores your faith in the genre…” – Tom Robinson BBC6Music
