Alina Rotaru was raised in Bucharest, where she studied piano and choral conducting at the Academy of Music. She moved to Germany in 1999 to study harpsichord with <a href="spotify:artist:6Zdwsyf0I6iJUQx9civiz6">Siegbert Rampe</a>, Wolfgang Kostujak, Carsten Lohff, and Detlef Bratschke, and she studied with <a href="spotify:artist:3CkHdpbn1xUU7Z4sauEwne">Bob van Asperen</a> in Amsterdam. Rotaru is an instructor of harpsichord at the University of the Arts in Bremen, and she performs internationally. She has recorded the music of <a href="spotify:artist:1py3vNdZzIlMyUlW4TNfwG">Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2oGCBnMefFtcVXsId7LRKe">Johann Jacob Froberger</a> for <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Carpe+Diem%22">Carpe Diem</a>, and a CD of works by <a href="spotify:artist:2j7yGPnVrdIHjHwtyLPJ2z">William Byrd</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:67LCIy0xGsdwyRXaSBrHIH">John Bull</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:2NkIVq5pAfIojxXjuaRVes">Orlando Gibbons</a> for <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Sono+Luminus%22">Sono Luminus</a>.
