Formed in late 2019 to differentiate from her folk-based solo work, Alix Apples & The Core consists of Alix "Apples" Adair and a carousel of talented musicians. Their work focuses on violence against women and mental health, creating music in the hopes of making these issues more accessible to the wider public. Much of this work is highly experimental and cross-genre, spanning the full scope of what protest music can be. The band released their debut album 'Say Something' in November 2021, in line with the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
