Alka Yagnik is one of India’s most celebrated playback singers, whose melodious voice has defined Bollywood music for over four decades. Born in Kolkata, India, in 1966, she began singing at a young age, performing on All India Radio as a child prodigy. Her big break came in 1981 with the song "Mere Angne Mein" from Laawaris, and she soon became a staple voice in Hindi cinema.

Yagnik’s career skyrocketed with hits like "Ek Do Teen" (Tezaab), "Choli Ke Peeche" (Khalnayak), "Taal Se Taal" (Taal), and "Dil To Pagal Hai" (Dil To Pagal Hai). Known for her versatility, she has effortlessly navigated genres, from romantic ballads to energetic dance numbers. Her collaborations with legendary composers like Laxmikant-Pyarelal, A.R. Rahman, and Nadeem-Shravan, as well as her duets with Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu, have produced countless chart-toppers.
