ALMA CORA is an American rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York in 2019. The group consists of lead vocalist Wes Hutchinson and guitarist/producer Mike MacAllister (known for writing and producing Donna Missal’s viral hit “Keep Lying”). They are joined by drummer, Gunnar Olson (Bruce Springsteen, Miike Snow, Big Data) on their self-titled debut EP. The band has been compared to Arctic Monkey, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Michael Kiwanuka.
The ALMA CORA EP, released March 10, 2020, is the culmination of two months of writing and recording at the tail end of 2019 as Wes prepared to move to Los Angeles. This looming change from East Coast to West influenced songs like “When I’m Gone” and ”This Breakdown.” The band has already started writing and recording new music for release later in 2020.
