"Affection and discord collide in twee indie folk pop harmony" A&R Factory review
Alpine Jubilee play folk-tinged indie pop, born out of a partnership between brothers Trevor O’Neil (Ups and Downs, 21 Faces, Hip Singles) and Glenn O’Neil (Captain Cocoa, Stinky Fire Engine, Good, Kadia, Folkaboum, The Oligarks). The group is a cross-nation collaboration with Trevor based in Toowoomba, Queensland and Glenn in Geneva, Switzerland. Alpine Jubilee’s sound is a rich mix of acoustic guitar, violin, trumpet, harmonies, ukulele, mandolin, mando-cello, tin whistle, harmonica, bass, percussion, synthesiser and even a zither, reflecting the brother’s diverse influences including 80s new wave, electro, dark wave, twee-jangle pop and contemporary nu-folk and alt-country.
