Based out of Charlotte, NC, Lynsea & Derek Schurbon make up the new, American, husband-and-wife duo, Alva. Alva’s debut studio project, ‘Closer Now’, is comprised of 3 electronic pop songs and released February 1, 2019. Co-written together and produced by Derek in their in-home studio, this project shares a sound that is not only unique to them but also to the Christian genre. Alva is passionate about bringing a new sound to the worship music world and bridging the gap between Christian and secular music.
Previously, Lynsea & Derek have released solo projects as artists, Eames, and Lewis. They both studied at Berklee College of Music and have worked in the production and music business worlds separately, until now. The entire 'Closer Now' project was written as a reminder that no matter our journey and despite our understanding, God's love never leaves. ‘Closer Now’ will be released independently by DAS Music, LLC.
