Rooted in jazz, Amahla’s voice moves effortlessly through R&amp;B, pop, folk, soul, and dance music, a range that echoes the brilliant solo female vocalists of the past.

Raised in a Guyanese household in East London, Amahla began her musical journey writing with her acoustic guitar and quickly learned how to lead live bands. Choosing to study Anthropology (the scientific study of humanity) at university, she balances themes of love and politics with authenticity and ease.

In 2024, Amahla released two EP’s, one on protest and the other on love, while embarking on her first UK headline tour and international dates, including a sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall&#39;s Elgar room .Over 2024 Amahla&#39;s viral ballad &#39;Enough&#39;, released in English, French, and Spanish was embraced as an anthem worldwide.

In an era often criticised for lacking substance, Amahla carries the torch of iconic Black vocalists who write profoundly about their relationship with the world. An important cultural voice offering music that is both timeless and urgent.
