Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Amanda Cooksey has always had a love for music. She has been writing songs since the age of twelve and has performed at various venues and festivals along the East Coast opening for Major Acts such as Dierks Bentley, Kip Moore, Maddie & Tae, Canaan Smith, and Michael Ray. Encouraged by her vocal/piano instructor Ron Feldman to pursue her dreams, Amanda decided to move to Nashville in 2014. With clever yet honest lyrics and unique melodies, Amanda’s song “Girl in the Mirror” won second place in the Write With A Hitmaker contest at the Durango Songwriter’s Expo and fourth place in Music City Songstar’s contest in fall of 2018.
A year later, Amanda released her sassy, fun single “Yo Mama”, a song she feels was the first to define her sound. Radio Disney Country jumped on board to support the single and awarded Amanda with the Song of the Week slot on “Let The Girl’s Play”. Her song “What’s His Name?” was also fortunate to receive love from the Radio Disney Country family and was added to the RDC rotation.
Continuing to hone in on her craft daily, Amanda plans to release more music throughout the rest of 2023 and is excited to see what the future has in store for her.
