Amarh Pino was the lead singer of the ever popular Marriots International Band in Ghana. During his time with Marriots, Amarh captivating stage presence has been his forte and it came as no surprise when Marriots International won the Best Band of the year award in 1992. After his six year stay with Marriots band, Pino moved on to form his own band called the Ozimzim Band and churned out two albums with popular hit the songs ‘ozimzim’ and ‘Maria’. The depth of the love for above-mentioned songs can be seen measured by how much it is requested almost anywhere Pino has had to perform till date.
The Ozimzim band travelled the world over performing to a wide range of audiences. After settling in Virginia in the United States of America for a while, the band moved to London and is now based here. One important feature of the band worth throwing light on is it’s ability to play various musical genres due to Pino’s like for different styles of music. A typical Ozimzim Band performance menu will be served with some Highlife music (particularly from Ghana) Afro beat and fusion of Reggae/African tunes. Influenced by the growing multicultural fan base in London, Amarh’s new Album “50/50 is a demonstration of the group’s versatility.
