First active musically as a teenager in Louisville’s underground punk scene, Andrew Sellers (aka Andrew Rinehart)'s first band Flight Nineteen played with seminal underground acts like At the Drive-In, By The Grace Of God & Avail.
His first album as a solo artist showcased a very different direction, placing him alongside off-kilter folk artists like Daniel Johnston, Sufjan Stevens & Bonnie Prince Billy (whom he covered Grateful Dead's 'Friend Of The Devil' with in 2021).
In 2010 Sellers moved to NYC and co-founded The Body Actualized Center, a DIY arts space located in Bushwick, as well as played in a variety of bands in New York's diy scene.
Turning his attention back to solo work in 2013, Rinehart released 'The Funeral Home Sessions' a 3-song EP of tributes to Fugazi, Neil Young, & folk legend Elizabeth Cotten. This was followed by "Nothing/Everything,” a 15-song double LP released on Los Angeles label Buddyhead Records. In turn melancholy and magnanimous, the album highlighted Rinehart's chameleon-like talent for genre hopping.
More recently Sellers/Rinehart has released a slew of singles ("Off On A Roll With The Soul", "Interdimensional Nonconversational Inconsequential Love", "They Say", "Rose Gold," & "Sight Unseen"), as well as a 5-song EP 'Have Fun Idiot!', all of which help underscore his continuous evolution.
His latest venture is Charm School, a no-wave leaning post-punk band. Their 5-song EP titled 'Finite Jest' was released in 2023. †
