Anemoria was formed in 2016 as a four-piece instrumental prog rock band led by Darnell Calderon (Guitar). His compositions were initially influenced by a fusion of post-hardcore and funk. In 2017, Joey Holiday (Vocals) joined the band, and they recorded and released their debut EP titled "Wind" in 2018. The group then released four singles throughout 2019 and 2020. By early 2021, Joey Holiday left, which resulted in a temporary hiatus.
In 2022, Darnell recruited Warren Jensen as the new vocalist. Since then, the band has been recording a full-length album which was originally composed by Darnell in 2019. The first single from their upcoming LP is titled, "The Metamorphosis," (2024) which blends elements of prog rock, Bossa nova, and experimental sounds.
