Aníbal Duarte Raposo, was born in the parish of Relva, municipality of Ponta Delgada, S. Miguel island, Azores, 5 of December of 1954.
He belongs to a generation of singer-songwriters who in the last 30 years has renewed Azorean music with original themes and poetry with deep roots in the tradicional music of the islands, and influenced by the great composers of Portuguese popular music, MPB and even classical music . He has performed in all the Azorean islands, Madeira, Portugal mainland and abroad and recorded several themes for RTP Azores series such as "O barco e o sonho" and "Balada do Atlântico". He is represented in diverse discography with other authors. CD's of the songwriter: "Mare cheia" edited at the end of 1999; "A palavra e o canto" edited in April of 2006; "Rocha da Relva, edit in August 2, 2013," Mar de Capelo ", edit in 2017, Falas e Afetos, published in 2021 and Luz do Tempo, published in December 2022 .
In October 2017 he performed in Lisbon (Casa da Achada) and in Porto (ESMAE concert coffee) presenting the CD - Mar de Capelo.
He has written themes from great Azorean poets such as Natália Correia, Emanuel Félix and Álamo de Oliveira. He is member of the Portuguese Society of Authors since 1996.
On June 5, 2017 he was honored by the Regional Parliament of the Azores for his artistic work with the Insígnia Autonómica de Reconhecimento , in the presence of His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic.
