Animal Ventura is the brainchild of Brazilian born, Byron Bay-based singer-songwriter Fernando Aragones.
As a boy, Fernando followed the steps of his father in “Rodas de Samba” (samba circles) in Brazil, then played punk rock and reggae in noisy garage bands. As he matured, so too did his sound.
These days he’s known for his rich tone and timeless vocals, served with a tasty side of new-wave live looping and strong song writing skills.
A fusion of the funky rhythms of his native South America and the coastal-indie-folk of Australian shores, Animal Ventura transports listeners around the globe. It’s this contemporary spin on world music that’s earned him airtime on Triple J, as well as supporting big name line-ups like the Presets, Art v Science and The Beautiful Girls.
His latest single 'All the Love We Knew' is a soulful blend of coastal-folk, with a pulsing drumbeat and simple yet elegant guitar riffs.
All that topped by Fernando's signature soothing vocals and meaningful lyrics.
Recorded late summer 2019/20 in Lennox Head, the track was produced and recorded by Grant Gerathy (John Butler Trio, Ray Mann Three, Pete Murray). Mixed and Mastered by George Georgiadis (Gang of Youths, Last Dinosaurs, Kim Churchill).
