Anja Kotar is a Pop singer-songwriter, producer and classically trained pianist, writing signature sunshine-y Pop that blends relatable lyrics and timeless melodies in a pursuit of romanticizing life and the everyday experiences we encounter.
Anja was born and raised in Slovenia, then moved to California with her family 13 years ago. She has received her Master's Degree in Music Production from Berklee College of Music.
Anja's songs have received over 10 million streams across platforms and have been featured in magazines such as Earmilk, Wonderland, Notion, Paste, The Line of Best Fit and The Music Connection. Anja's single 'Movie' was used in a viral TikTok video with over 14 million views.
In 2022, Anja created a musical version of the calendar - releasing one song per month, named after that month. Tying in with her classical music background, each of the songs features an interpolation of a classical music piece.
Building on her momentum, Anja debuted her first full-length album, 'Hopeless Romantic,' in 2023. Telling a romcom-inspired story about finding the love of your life, the album earned her placement on prominent Spotify playlists like Fresh Finds and Next Gen Singer-Songwriters.
Anja is currently working on her new project ‘At the Bookstore’ which will culminate in an album of songs inspired by titles and covers at bookstores.
