AnnaLina is a Sydney-based artist, particularly influenced by London’s UK Soul and RnB sound. Making her debut in late 2020 with the single “It’s Seasonal”, she established herself as one to watch in the Sydney music scene.
AnnaLina grew up listening to old Soul and Motown artists like Etta James, Otis Redding and Al Green, who sparked her love for raw improvisation and stacked backing vocals, something she clearly reflects in her own music. For AnnaLina, singing came as naturally as talking and she describes endless camcorder footage from her childhood of her and her older sister starring in living room performances and harmonising together.
AnnaLina draws on her own life experiences to write lyrics that are relatable and captivating. A self-described “Romance Sceptic”, she often writes about love and relationships, but from a fresh and unique perspective. Her lyrics show that she is not wrapped up in her own emotions but is a deep thinker and empath all the while not taking herself too seriously.
