Anoushiravan Rohani is an Iranian composer, pianist, conductor, and music educator who’s widely regarded as one of Iran's most prominent and influential musicians of the 20th century. He was born in Iran in 1939 and began studying music at a young age, under the guidance of his father, a renowned musician and composer.
Rohani's career spanned more than seven decades and encompassed a wide range of musical genres, including light classical, traditional Persian, and Western styles. He composed music for a variety of instruments, including the piano, violin, and santur, and his work has been performed by orchestras and ensembles & singers around the world.
In addition to his work as a composer and performer, Rohani was also an influential music educator. He founded several music schools and conservatories in Iran, and helped to train and mentor generations of Iranian musicians.
Anoushiravan’s compositions such as Iranian Most Played Song “Tavalodet MOBARAK” ( which is the Persian Happy Birthday song), “Soltan Ghalbha”, “Gole Sangam”, Omid e Zengani (Recently performed by Pink Martini) & “Maybe I Maybe You” (for Scorpions band in Germany)are amongst his 500 Famous Compositions. His legacy continues to be felt in the world of Iranian music and beyond. His contributions to Persian classical music, in particular, have been widely recognized and celebrated.
