Antonio Ximenez Lopez was born in Madrid in 1963.
At the age of 11, he began his musical career in the San Sebastián de los Reyes Municipal Band (Madrid).
He also studied music theory, French horn and trumpet at the Madrid Conservatory.
At the age of 16, he settled in the Madrid capital and began to play Jazz, Salsa, etc. with professional groups as well as several big bands in the capital, especially with Bob Sands, the great New York saxophonist.
In 1986 he is a trumpet teacher at the Taller de Músicos in Madrid where he meets the great Barry Harris and his Be Bop improvisation method which he will follow for more than 20 years in worshops around the world.
Antonio has played at numerous festivals and jazz clubs around the world. Shanghai (7 years) Holland, Denmark, France, etc... He has also with great national and international figures such as: Celia Cruz, Olga Guiloot, Barry Harris, Vince Benedetti, Richie Cole, Nicole Henry, Paquito D’Rivera, Rudy Calzado, Lila Downs, Hernán Oliveira, Antonio Vega, etc…
He currently works on cruise ships around the world and has begun his career as a composer on music platforms with Oscar Castaño Chávez with the one who has participated in one of his last Albums with the songs “Remember Barry” and “Praying for Kerson” with more than 2 million listeners.
“Angelou” is his last single.
