According to the legend of their press release, Argyle Park's frontman Buka was raised around the world by missionary parents; when he was 12 years old and on a trip to Africa, he became lost and spent a night with a tribe of natives. That experience began a lifelong love of worldbeat percussion and rhythms (his name comes from what the tribe called him). He returned to the United States to go to a New York college, where he met his two future music partners. Deathwish and Dred grew up in tough neighborhoods of New York City, listening to hardcore punk and techno. The three members of Argyle Park united their influences into a rich palate of sounds, including hard rock, punk and worldbeat. One album has been released. ~ John Bush, Rovi
