Arkenstone is an indie-pop artist formed by South African musician, songwriter and producer Rashid Adams. A Master of Music graduate at University of Cape Town, where he specialised in African music(s), Arkenstone incorporates features of contemporary indie music - vibrant, uplifting melodic and harmonic motifs - which uniquely interact with distinctly (South) African bass lines, rhythms and beats.
By recording and producing his music from his home studio, Arkenstone creates what he describes as Songs of Hope - authentic offerings which are simultaneously intimate and contagiously rhythmic.
