Brandon Kinder was never one to shy away from experimentation. Growing up in Memphis, Tennessee, he dabbled in writing songs as early as high school after receiving his first guitar. Fast forward to 2019, and Kinder has embarked on a new project called Future Canyons. Filled to the brim with lush vocals, percussion-driven beats, and classic folk-pop chants peppered behind the powerful hooks, Kinder’s voice and production is tailor made for pop. Future Canyons will be Kinder’s first album released via Position Music.
Kinder grew up around music: His parents and grandparents were both musicians and performers. He made strides to take music seriously in college when he formed a band called The Rocketboys, with whom he toured the US numerous times. As he was creating music for The Rocketboys, he was exposed to some of his favorite bands including Jeff Buckley, Sunny Day Real Estate, and HUM—which you can hear as a sonic influence in Future Canyon’s music.
Future Canyons is a project that is very close to Kinder’s heart—he hopes that listeners also keep it close too. His powerful vocals and empowering lyrics push listeners to hope, dream, and believe in themselves.
When writing this project, Kinder said that it was a project that pushed him out of his comfort zone and forced him to dream of a better future which is something he wants to impart with his work. Like his artist name and the music suggests, Kinder is always looking forward towards a more positive future.
