Gold Coast-based duo Arroyo have emerged late in 2018 carving a sleek sound of their own reminiscent of the likes of alt-J, James Vincent McMorrow and Bon Iver.
After successfully working alongside Australian artists from Jarryd James to Dead Letter Circus for many years, it was now time for this pair to write their own story - and thus, after one spontaneous late night studio session, Arroyo was formed.
Their debut cut ‘Please Just Let Me Know’ is a soul-infused slice of down-tempo indie-rock. Intense, yet spacious dynamics enable the melody, groove and structure to float elegantly throughout, creating a meticulously composed piece that encompasses dark pop-sensibilities.
The second single ‘Hold’ is the debut release from ‘Daily Nightly’ - an exciting new label from Untitled Group, the team behind Beyond the Valley Music Festival, in partnership with Caroline Australia. ‘Hold’ not only marks a new exciting chapter for Untitled Group, but also for Arroyo in what is set to be a very bright path ahead of the fresh band.
