As Never Before

The album “To the end of beyond” by As Never Before is a sonic hybrid of sparse, repetitive electroacoustic guitar patterns combined with rhythmic sounds performed live through the electronic sensors of sensory percussion. This creates a backdrop where words emerge and submerge; sometimes biting, sometimes devout.

Influenced by the folk tradition of storytellers, early David Byrne, Legendary Pink Dots, Coil, and Einstürzende Neubauten, As Never Before assemble a playful environment where post-folk and minimal ambient music interact with sui generis pop shades.
Fragments of soundscapes and words appear and disappear, doors knock without response, questions are posed without answers, and passages open into parallel worlds. “To the end of beyond” is an acoustic wandering that begins in uncertainty and eventually leads to something resembling a luminous exit.
