@MYTheClap started off as a project for solo work and collaboration with other artists & writers outside the band I was playing with at the time. “Coast to Coast” was the band with whom I was the bass player and vocalist.
Born in London, @MYTheClap lived mostly in Malaysia and Singapore and is now based out of Barcelona, Spain. “MY” in the name refers to Malaysia, where it all started. “The Clap” was inspired by Folsom Prison Blues, the desire for applause and appreciation and an opportunity to have a laugh.
Inspired by the storytellers in music, rock-n-roll and grunge bands from the ‘60s to the ‘90s and with a smattering of blues, country and pop thrown in, @MYTheClap performs solo acoustic gigs or stands-in with bands where possible.
