Atena Eshtiaghi is a composer born in Tehran, Iran in 1989.Graduating in Classical Music, she explored traditional Persian music. Since 2007, she has shared her passion as a professional Cellist and Double Bass player, both solo and with orchestras.Collaborating with esteemed ensembles and orchestras like Tehran Symphony Orchestra, Iran National Orchestra, and Parsian String Orchestra, Eshtiaghi’s journey has been marked by performing in concerts around the world alongside icons like Mohammadreza Shajarian and last but not least Kayhan Kalhor in Silent City tour with Miniature String Quartet.Furthermore, her creative repertoire extends beyond song composition. She has also created compositions for theaters and performances, including “Silence of the Ropes” (2023) and“Uprising Bodies” (2024).
Professionally initiating film scoring in (2021), she composed for acclaimed films like “I’m Trying to Remember” by Pegah Ahangarani (2021) and “Endless Borders” by Abbas Amini(2023). She won the German Documentary Film Music Award for her score in the documentary “My Stolen Planet” by Farahnaz Sharifi at DOK.fest München 2024.In Hamburg, she co-founded Duo Azadi with pianist Clara Haberkamp.Currently based in Germany.
