August Rosenbaum is an artist who flows between musical modes such as writing timeless pop songs and composing for film, performance and art installations. He has collaborated and recorded with some of today’s most exciting and established musicians including Kendrick Lamar, Rhye, Kindness, Dijon and Moses Boyd, and he recently co-wrote a ballet score with Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon for Brooklyn Academy of Music.

August has recorded five instrumental albums, two of which gained Danish National Music Awards, and he ran his own label, Hiatus, releasing improvised and experimental music. Most recently, he conceived and co-created an exhibition at Copenhagen Contemporary titled Celeste, that combined sculpture, video, fragrance, performance and music.

His most recent collaboration is found on the new single Fiction, which features Brooklyn based singer Ian Isiah. Released on Copenhagen-based label Escho, the new song unites an all-star cast of Scandinavian talent, with co-writing from Little Dragon’s Yukimi Nagano and Robin Hannibal. The song represents a new side of August’s musical output, one that is radically different from his previous instrumental releases, and features a stellar list of collaborators and even August’s own voice making an appearance for the first time
