At 14, Augusto was already showcasing his people’s folk music at international festivals across South America, traveling to Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Mexico.
He holds a degree in classical guitar from the University of Passo Fundo, graduating with top honors, and a Master’s in Performance from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML). In 2016, he was invited as a soloist with the ESML Symphony Orchestra in Lisbon.
Augusto has led workshops and masterclasses at institutions like the University of Passo Fundo, the Regional Conservatory of Ponta Delgada, and the Conservatory of Angra do Heroísmo. In 2018, he worked as a substitute professor at the National Conservatory in Lisbon.
As a composer and instrumentalist, he has released four albums: Palavra de Fantoche, Grey City, Tempos e Lugares, and APÓCRIFO.
His work has been praised by international jazz, improvised, and contemporary music critics in outlets like Simply Jazz Talk, Jazziz, All About Jazz, Jazz pt, Caravan, and Latin Jazz.
In film, he composed the soundtrack for MARIA, which won Best Short Film at the Brazil International Monthly Independent Film Festival (BIMIFF).
