Started by a run-in at a <a href="spotify:artist:3p9nYbFprckRkRxuCFVQcx" data-name="Colfax Speed Queen">Colfax Speed Queen</a> show, a few Craigslist posts, and a couple sessions at a grungy hourly practice space in Denver, Away Team burned bright and fast in the Denver music scene. Featuring current and former members of <a href="spotify:artist:5qruq3tpQmlE320h9kulsX" data-name="Marti And The Dads">Marti And The Dads</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3mN5aMO08aGSiZfi55I8N6" data-name="Short Shorts">Short Shorts</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:23C2MMAUF6YNwq4gfONmiM" data-name="Panther Martin">Panther Martin</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7zfa1O9dukC7Md8T5Y3KsM" data-name="Super Bummer">Super Bummer</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6hOVS63ZywfFitcbVczHxf" data-name="yeahnoyeah">yeahnoyeah</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:7yzDCah6uCgSTr6JLgm59F" data-name="Whitacre">Whitacre</a>, they combined nostalgic emo vibes with modern pop-punk energy. Away Team released their debut EP on Jan. 23, 2019, entitled "They Don’t Even Go Here," with the help of producers Collin Ingram (of <a href="spotify:artist:6B1IvlQUrlwkICOgUq7XGL" data-name="Lowfaith">Lowfaith</a>), and Corey Coffman (of <a href="spotify:artist:4UjrcYERvCDC44O0uBSOFa" data-name="Gleemer">Gleemer</a>).
303 Magazine said of the EP <a href="spotify:album:7aNpmEFSRoP5jatC7cm1mq" data-name="They Don't Even Go Here">They Don't Even Go Here</a>, "The band tiptoes along the tightrope of nostalgia and artistry with their vocals paired with incredible guitar and drumming....There is not a single song on this debut EP that doesn’t serve a purpose or deserve gracious ears."
