As the band members are originally musicians in a theater group, called Teater Pagupon, in the Faculty of Humanities in University of Indonesia, BackingSoda is accustomed to theater environment.
Turning scripts into lyrics.
Crafting notes to accommodate all scenes on stage.

With a genre of progressive jazz, the song “Perjalanan” carries optimism to live lively every day. The genre shifts to gloomy ballad in “Samar Beku” and “Kehilangan” that offer a wretched feeling as the loved ones are at a far distance. Meanwhile, featuring Payung Teduh, BackingSoda produces “You’re So Divine” as a slow-beat swing song that encourages us to accept that feeling. There is also “Di Rahim Waktu” with a touch of pop rock, and two sweet ballad songs, “Menikmati Hidup” and “Dewi Khayal”, reminding us to be sincere.

Without question, BackingSoda is unique as the band is heavy on vocal harmonization by Ghita Rahmah Meirani, Miranty P. Wardhani, Wulandari Natlia, and Ayusya. Get ready to listen to a full-on vocal harmony which might be a bit hard to find in other bands.

Not only the four vocalists, the band also consists of two guitarists, Hendi Yusup and Putri Raya. Both of them craft the band’s music arrangement transporting the vocal harmony to achieve rich tunes on each lyric. In this album, BackingSoda also invites several additional players.
