In 2010 a couple of blues addicts and an ex-punker founded Baldrick Brothers and soon an explosive mixture was brewed, based on those musical ingredients, which ensures that your feet will hit the dancefloor, your hands wave in the air and your beer glass will be empty soon.
Over the past decades, Baldrick Brothers has been playing in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany on several festivals and a lot of smaller (music) bars and venues.
In 2014 the band released their first album “Cunning Plan”. Of course the title refers – just like the band name- to Blackadder, a character from a British television comedy.
This album contains a mixture of country classics and obscure punk songs, perfectly adjusted to the “Country Punk-a-Billy” style of Baldrick Brothers.
"Extraordinarily tasty" was the opinion of VPRO’s 3 for 12.
Characteristic - both live and on the CD - is the voice of singer Jaap Baldrick that is supported in the largely up-tempo songs by authentic instruments such as washboard, ukulele, banjo and mouth harp.
Their second album, Crimson Red, revealed a more sophisticated side of the band and was released in 2020.
Shortly after covid the band decided to split.
To everyone's -including the band members- surprise a single release was announced for November 7, 2025.
The track is called "Christmas Fucking Christmas" and is not about Easter or Thanksgiving.
