Exploration isn’t a buzzword for BAMBII. It’s a genuine practice. “I really respect people who decide for themselves what they like in a world that's deciding for you,” says the wave-making DJ and producer. As a Caribbean-Canadian, BAMBII’s existence is a result of the sacrifice and promise of immigration matched with her own instincts for cultural transfusion. Her upcoming project, Infinity Club II, is what she calls “a staircase” one that not only builds on the ideas of her debut EP, 2023’s Infinity Club, but shows off new levels of experimentation and technical mastery.
Fresh off co-producing with Kelela, touring with Jamie XX, and winning the 2024 JUNO Award for Best Electronic Album, BAMBII is poised for a bold return. Infinity Club II thrives in liminal space, where predictability dissolves and innovation takes hold. It’s what itches those corners of her brain that tell her Caribbean music is electronic music in its essence and that what she creates is never a crossover or a collision, but a continuum.
Infinity Club II drops June 20.
