BANTU is a trailblazing Afrobeat and Afrofunk collective from Nigeria led by Ade Bantu. Known for their explosive live energy and socially conscious lyrics, the band fuses Afrobeat, Highlife, Afrofunk, and Yoruba rhythms and global grooves. Their music champions unity, justice, and liberation staying true to Afrobeat’s revolutionary roots while pushing it into new, future-facing directions.
Over the years, BANTU has collaborated with artists including UB40, Tony Allen, Seun Kuti, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Adewale Ayuba, Orlando Julius, Akua Naru, Gentleman, Patrice, Vector, Megaloh, and Ebo Taylor. They’re also the founders of Afropolitan Vibes, the celebrated Lagos concert series that revived Nigeria’s live music scene and featured over 190 guest performers all backed by BANTU’s powerhouse band.
With acclaimed albums like Everybody Get Agenda (2021) and What Is Your Breaking Point (2023), and a standout performance at Germany’s Beethoven Festival in 2025, BANTU continues to expand Afrobeat’s global reach while celebrating Africa’s vibrant musical heritage.
