In his hometown of Huddersfield, the multi-instrumentalist's early musical education was informed by drumming in bands as well as playing various brass instruments in an orchestra. After leaving school he grafted as a pot washer, dodging knives thrown by angry chefs while saving up for a bedroom studio. Three years ago he moved to London to study and began producing records, honing his approach through a deft arrangement of the organic and electronic elements in his sound.
Two years later and Lister was invited to set up shop in Mark Ronson’s studio, where he worked with many artists who have now broken through. He now finds himself as hugely in demand having recently worked with Celeste, Shura, Obongjayar, Steamdown, Bad Girls, and many more. Signed to Different Recordings (Greentea Peng, Anna Of The North etc), Lister is currently working on his new project including some exciting features to come.
