The Salvation Army has always been at the forefront of new. The legacy of The Salvation Army is firmly placed in reading and responding to popular culture.

In 2016, The Salvation Army added “Bearers” to the list of those responses.

As a collective of passionate young musicians, songwriters and artists, “Bearers” represents a new chapter in the musical heritage of The Salvation Army. More than a single band, idea or concept, “Bearers” is a movement, driven by faith-filled young christians who want to win the world for Jesus.

Bearers’ latest single "Defined" is an injection of new firepower into the canon of Salvation Army music, stating loudly and clearly that being created in the image of a good God makes us all that we need to be - and more.

Combining high energy synths, soaring guitars and catchy pop melodies, Bearers is an honest, real and relatable expression of worship, perfectly capturing the energy, excitement and enthusiasm of the youth in The Salvation Army.

“Bearers” is best explained by the final lines of the song “Bearers” from our debut EP: “For the One who died, who was crucified, we bear the banner of His Name”.
