The Beatfreaks is a 3-man electronic music trio from London, U.K.
Peter Litchfield (Lix), Anthony Pelekanou, and Brian Johnson (Bizzy B), formed the group in 2000.
Over a 20-year period, the unmistakable Beatfreaks sound has blessed DJ sets in the UK Garage, Breaks, Dubstep, and Electronic music genres.
The Beatfreaks discography spans 23 releases, 15 major label compilation album features, and top 40 chart remixes.
Their most famous track is the timeless <a href="spotify:track:0elK8QJ3sACWUWRCVj5cK5" data-name="Speakerbox">Speakerbox</a>; championed by the legendary DJ EZ and subsequently signed by EMI music.
Other classics include pirate radio smash <a href="spotify:track:4HcXBw0mPXnf2CVpJEAp5Z" data-name="Original Badboy">Original Badboy</a>, and fan favourites Switch, <a href="spotify:track:1DfQ1to2kzUU3Y5QZhkwFs" data-name="Fire">Fire</a>, and <a href="spotify:track:08XcLJi8RFXORhKEGKellB" data-name="Twelves">Twelves</a>.
The trio also remixed DJ Luck & MC Neat's top 40 track Irie, and Second Protocol's chart smash Basslick.
Vinyl copies of the Beatfreaks early works are rare and well sought after.
In 2018/19, popular electronic music DJ Francesco Del Garda reignited popularity in a 2003 Beatfreaks track named Test Press, with copies of the original pressing changing hands for over £100.
The track attracted interest from a number of independent labels and was eventually signed by 'Dr Banana' and released in October 2019.
The 10″ vinyl sold out on pre-order within days of being announced. A digital release followed in February 2020 ( <a href="spotify:album:3LVUUy9MF7b3INfCNOyu2c" data-name="Test Press / Boo Dem">Test Press / Boo Dem</a>.)
