Becoming Real's new EP 'Mist Face' sees him explore the Japanese demon folklore of the Yokai. Hallucinatory audio sigils conjure apparitions from deep archaic spaces in empty cities - ghost-scapes that float in the air. Becoming Real's music always alluded to other worlds that sleep in the reflections of steel buildings and glass walls, but with 'Mist Face' he goes a step further and invites us into these portals and drags Japanese demon mythology into them with us - giving the listener both a cathartic and haunting experience.

Becoming Real is a UK electronic producer based in Copenhagen. His new EP entitled 'Mist Face' was released via Lex Records on 19th June 2019.
Since his first release in 2010 he’s dropped several well-received EPs and an album on Transgressive Records. His early promise earned him inclusion in The Guardian’s ‘New Band Of The Week’ and NME’s ‘Radar’ features, and saw him pick up radio support from Lauren Laverne, Huw Stevens, Mistajam, Rinse and Mary Ann Hobbs.
He’s played Great Escape, Leeds Festival and the Royal Albert Hall and toured the UK and Europe with the likes of SBTRKT, Salem, Grimes and Mount Kimbie.
Following the release of his debut album ‘Pure Apparition, he took some time out of music to spend time smoking the strongest strains of skunk known to man, developing his own label "Zone Collective", and developing his audio hallucinatory dealing skills.
He’s now back with his most fully realised project yet.
