Portland's Bed. make a distinctive brand of ruminative, guitar-based, '90s style indie rock. Formed in 2013, Bed. features husband-and-wife duo singer/guitarist Sierra Haager and singer/bassist Alex Haager, along with drummer Andrew Meininger. Originally from San Francisco, the Haagers quit their respective jobs and bands in 2013 and moved to Portland, Oregon to start their own independent label, Breakup Records. However, in between putting out albums by other bands, they began working on their own music. Influenced by the poetic '90s slowcore of bands like Low, as well as the soft/loud punk aesthetic of the Pixies, Bed. developed a D.I.Y. style they dubbed "slow-fi." Once Meininger came on board, Bed. began building a fan base with numerous live shows around the Pacific Northwest. In 2016, they released their debut EP, Klickitat, on Bug Hunt. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
