Beddau was founded in 2022 by songwriter and multi instrumentalist Robert Horsfall.
Sonically, swathes of electronics amidst a foundation of cinematic doom/sludge culminates in a Welsh post metal project that's as bleak as it is beautiful.
An initial offering in 2023 ‘Beddgelert’ showcased monolithic heaviness and hallucinatory calm alongside the propensity for coupling the music with visual representation. The intention of the release being an accompanying soundtrack to a thirteenth-century Welsh folk tale, ‘The legend of Gelert the Dog’.
Blurring the boundaries of their doom metal label, Beddau explore delicate and introspective emotions within the instrumentation, using the feeling of calm emptiness whilst building towards crushing moments of punishing power.
