Ben Balmer, raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan, started his musical journey with the harmonica at 13, quickly adding guitar and performing in clubs by age 16. In 2008, he hit the road, busking across the U.S. before settling in Austin for 14 years. He has released 3 albums in the rootsy, Americana genre: Dug In (2012), Loose Lips (2015), and Honky-Tonk Macbeth (2021).
Post-pandemic, Ben sought change and relocated to Asheville, NC in 2022. Embracing the local scene, he's performing across the Southeast, playing house concerts and songwriters festivals, and continuing his involvement in the international harmonica community as a Seydel-endorsed artist. Currently crafting his fourth album, Ben anticipates releasing singles in 2024, drawing inspiration from Asheville’s rich musical mountain setting.
