Hailing from Newcastle MEMEME resident and label regular Ben Caldwell seems to be an under-the-radar star with multiple releases under his belt gaining support from the likes of Roman Flugel, Jennifer Cardini, and Solomun the latter of which recently charted one of his tracks on Beatport. With recent gigs at Pikes and multiple sets at Gottwood, this year things seem to be on the move for ben and we are looking forward to hearing what this Geordie has in store for the rest of 2022. Ben has releases due out on MEMEME and Ben Hemsley's bebé imprint in the near future and is busy working away in the studio with lots more music to come.
Having DJed for several years, he founded SHI-BUI in 2016, giving himself and upcoming talent a regular platform to play in the city. Since then, he has held residences at one of Newcastle’s premier house and techno brands LOOP as well as the infamous MEMEME parties sharing lineups with artists including Sven Vath, Kölsch, Alan Fitzpatrick, Gerd Janson, Honey Dijon, and many many more.
