The words “masterful”, “remarkable”, and “everything he touches turns to gold” have been used by various periodicals when reviewing music created by award-winning producer/composer Ben Leinbach. Ben aspires to create transcendent music that highlights a broad spectrum of the human experience: the beauty and the darkness, the love and the longing, the joy and the melancholy. It is his hope that through exploring this emotional terrain, the listener will feel more deeply and live more fully.
He has produced recordings with Deva Premal and Miten, Shiva Rea, and Jai Uttal, including Jai’s Grammy-nominated album “Mondo Rama”, to name a few. As a recording engineer he has worked with Joan Baez, Ledisi, and E-40, among many others, and performed as a drummer with Kurt Elling, Chico Freeman, and Michael Manring. One of his former rock bands shared bills with Green Day, Primus, and The Ohio Players.
