Bengal's debut album, Gathering Storm is a concept album. It tells the story of a man who slowly collapses under the burdens imposed on people by the 21th century. The songs investigate a number of relatable and important topics, ranging from bad decisions and relationship issues to mind-twisting propaganda spewed by the media.

The record itself is the solo project of Bence Gaál, who sings and plays all instruments except for drums, with one of the world’s finest drummers, Péter Kaszás (known for his work with Al di Meola, Djabe & Steve Hackett, Infinity Project), behind the kit.

“The project has been on my mind for quite a long time. I tried to fine-tune every detail and offer the listeners an end product that can stand on its own anywhere on the globe” Gaál added. “In terms of genre, I tried to reinterpret the rock style of the ‘70s and ‘80s from a modern perspective, inspired by bands such as Boston and Golden Earring. I combined this style with heavy blues elements, and I believe that the progressive tone of The Alan Parsons Project also had a marked effect on the big picture.”
